I havw other Ryobi tools and am happy. Battery seems to last a good amount and the tools are rugged and ergonomic. The multi kit looks good to give someone for a gift. Maybe a graduating tech school kid? Not liking the fluorescent boogie green, yellow color but thats good if you leave on ground, you can find it. A good tool for a great price. Today I cut trees with medium dull wood long wood blade and had no problems with 3" diameter trees and smaller brush. Battery died after 30 minutes though. Need two batteries.

Since getting this saw, I find excuses to charge up the batteries and go look for things to cut... old branches, old metal chairs, roots, particle board..really about anything. Nice saw!I do recommend using batteries that are a bit bigger, the 'smallest' Ryobi batteries are typically 1.5-2.0AH; I'd suggest using a 2.5 or even 3 or 4 for power and run time. If you are doing one small cut, it's no big deal; but if you are doing thick and/or hard wood/branches/metal; yea; use one of the mid or large size batteries.

This isn't your grandpa's corded sawzall that could probably demo a house alone, but if you've already got 18v Ryobi batts, you cant beat the price.Over the winter I needed a tool that was between a oversized lopper and a chainsaw to trim back various shrubs and trees. This thing was exactly what I needed. It doesn't feel 100% rock solid and the blade change system is kinda funky but I've been climbing trees with it for a season as a homeowner and it fits the bill perfectly. Quickly prune 1" up to maybe 3" diameter? Haven't gone bigger. I ordered a separate set of pruning blades. Great battery life in my experience.I dont normally use ryobi but my 18v impact driver I got for a great deal has been absolutely essential around the home/yard/garage and this is another tool I've added without regret, to my homeowner collection of ryobi stuff on the 18v system.

Great for DIY projects. I bought this with different purpose blades. I cut some tree branches and worked great. It does shake your arms so just keep tight.

I don't write a ton of reviews but I'm using this to trim up some trees with branches up to 3" thick and it's been a dream using this tool. It's so easy it's actually fun. Absolutely the best purchase I've ever made on Amazon.
