Q: When filled with hot water is the outside of the water bottle hot to touch?

Not at all, I thought it would be hot to the touch at first, but it wasn't. Even though I poured hot water, the outside of the cup didn't change at all. I like it!

Q: The thermos flask is it a 100% leakproof lid? i'm looking for a bottle that i can put in my bag.

Yes, 100% leakproof! I put this in my bag all of the time and my hot water does not spill out. It's a great buy I would highly recommend.

Q: Could you use it for soup?

Yes you can but it’s not the best at keeping things hot. Keeping cold is great though. Coffee stays hot for about 3 hours so I’m guessing soup would be the same

Q: Is this water bottle suitable as a gift?

A great value gift. I bought 2 travel mugs and gave them to my grandparents. They were very satisfied with the well-insulated water bottle and the lid made it easy for them to drink. It's really good.
