Why did you pick this product vs others?:This stuff is amazing! The amount of brown residue that came out of my Moccamaster coffee maker was incredible. I took another reviewers tip and pored the extra into my stainless steel coffee mug and after sitting for 15 minutes I used a brush and all the black residue flaked off and it looks new! My only disappointment is in myself for not taking before and after pictures.

Oh my gosh. The first coffee cleaner that really works. This is no joke! Vinegar is worthless. I’ve tried multiple coffee cleaners that just don’t cut it. I tried Urnex one time and it reduced my brewing time from 15 minutes to 7. I never saw so much debris come out of my coffee maker ever. I am sold.

It has worked very well in the past

I have a Moccamaster coffee maker, and us this exclusively for cleaning. I buy my coffee filters in boxes with 100. When the filters run out, I use this to clean my coffee maker. Use warm water in a measuring cup. Mix this product in, stir until dissolved. Pore it into the water compartment, run 1/2 the water, then stop the machine for 15 minutes. This lets the cleaner sit in there for a while, scrubbing away. As the water comes out, you'll see soapy foam and any dirt. After you are finished cleaning, run fresh water through it three times to assure it's cleaned of the product. Enjoy!

Very simple process as per the instructions on the packet. I have used this for over a year now and it cleans my coffee maker to like new. I fully recommend it to anyone who may not be getting the full cleaning results they are looking for from other products. No smell, just clean.

I've been using this on our Rancilio Silvia for a few years now. They changed the box, but the product appears to be the same. It's actually fairly fun to use this stuff, although it is somewhat nasty too... Why? This cleaner is designed to remove coffee oils and residue (it's not much of a descaler, for that try dezcal). Running pure water through our 'dirty' machine, yields slightly tainted water... not too bad, but pure water demonstrates that the machine is dirty, but clearly does not do much to clean the machine. Enter Cleancaf.The moment the first bit of cleancaf solution exits the machine is obvious. The water goes from 'clean' to Nasty!!!! And it stays nasty for quite some time. All of that nasty, is old coffee oil and bean residue. It's amazing just how much 'nasty' comes out. Granted, if I wasn't so lazy and did this more than once every 6 month or so, maybe it wouldn't be so dramatic. But I suppose it's part of the fun! (Something you can look forward to, if you're lazy like me!) One the machine is clean, the water exiting the machine is crystal clear. How do I know all of the detergent is out? I run it until the water exiting the machine does not exhibit any persistent suds or bubbles. Oh, for reference, we pull at least 6 shots daily. At least. Daily. Every day.Pros: Cleans our espresso machine like a champ. It's actually fun and rewarding to see how much this cleans the machine!Cons: It is actually disturbing just how much gunk comes out sometimes, but I suppose that's not Cleancaf's fault.Summary: This is a great product for cleaning a coffee/espresso machine - Not necessarily the best descaler.I received absolutely nothing in exchange for this review.
