Easy to install, robust, seems to handle a lot.
This is indeed the "Xantrex 817-3000" 3000 watt inverter (not the 2000 watt inverter in the picture). Also this inverter does NOT have the built in battery charger listed in the description (817-3000 should not have a charger built in). You should receive the correct item, just ignore all the details.I CAN run a 15,500 BTU AC unit with this inverter. It will run the microwave just fine. It will NOT run both the AC and Microwave at the same time longer than 20 seconds (2,600 theoretical watts). This could be due to to my 4 lead acid batteries or inefficiencies with the appliances (the inverter screen was showing north of 3k kilowatts). I would say go with 5,000 watts and lifepo4 batteries if you want a true 30 amp connection replacement but this thing gets close. Good enough for my budget.I hope "you get what you pay for" rings true for this brand. Time will tell. The connections were easy and well protected. The casing is sturdy and easy to mount. Overall seems very high quality.

Best inverter ever
I have owned several inverters as an over the road truck driver. Some last a couple of years and others less and all of them have issues.This was the best one as far as ease of installation and setup (I also purchased the remote panel) with the optional plug (which I purchased) as well as hardwire. The instructions were exact and easy to understand and even easier to hook up to power source and wire the plugs that I wanted. When I turn the unit off on the panel it shuts it down so no worries of draining battery.This is by far the best inverter I have purchased and well worth the money

Upgraded from a smaller inverter
Upgraded from an OEM 1200 watt Xantrex that was installed in my RV that was too small to power microwave or coffee maker.

Very well made
Compared to the PooExtra brand inverter it replaced, this thing is a beast. Terminals are substantial, the unit is heavy, the controls are easy to read, the instructions are professional etc. I built it into a motor home and wanted something enclosed in steel, with fans and substantial electrical components for obvious reasons.
