Great Product with a few Recommendations
Background: I've gone through several bluetooth headsets and find they all fall short of the original cell phone handset audio quality.. Switched to wired sets with mic. Performance is better but still have issues if mic did not match cell phone sensitivity. Desperately trying to find a headset that will be comfortable and have audio quality better than or equal to holding a cell phone to your head. My requirements are from hours of conference calls. I need quick mute, excellent audio quality, mute feature, long battery if not wired and an overall durable well designed product.I think I've found it. I've been using the BlueParrott for 3 weeks now and give it 4 stars over all for audio quality, comfort, buttons, general features and call handling.Pros:COMFORT - Very comfortable even when wearing it for 4 or more hours. The main body is sizable but once it is on you really don't notice it.BUILD & DURABILITY - Plastic is durable, headset band is flexible but not brittle. Boom mic is flexible and stays where you put it. Buttons are soft with good click feedback when pressed.BATTERY LIFE - Well I've charged it occasionally during the week a few times because I did not want it to die during calls. It has only died after 2 days of use without charging and leaving it on overnight. So battery gets 5 stars from me.AUDIO QUALITY - #1 feature for me and it is great. People say I sound like I'm on a regular phone so I would say mic quality is excellent. The earpiece quality is also good. Soft earpiece blocks out external sounds and volume is adjustable.FEATURES - Volume Up/Down, Answer/Hangup, Voice Feedback is Clear, Mute is easy to access but would rather have quicker response. Mute is press and hold to activate which takes about a second to kick in. When you have to respond quick on a call this is a big deal because people think you have dropped off.Cons:BLINKING BLUE LIGHT - Please folks from BlueParrott get rid of the blue blinking light. It blinks when you are on and off calls constantly. This is especially distracting when driving at night.as it reflects off the inside of the car windows. I kept double checking thinking there were cops in the area or following me. Let's be less obnoxious please. What purpose is this this for. Take note from Motorolla and just have a tiny indicator that does not blink.CHARGING CONNECTOR - I need another power supply like I need a higher tax bracket. Could they not have figured out how to use 5V USB from laptop or the dozens of other chargers I have around the house and car??? Please let that be in the next generation of BlueParrott headsets. Their current offering is a mini coax DC connector. They do give you car and wall chargers but again, I don't need more chargers in the car or house or laptop bag.BLUETOOTH RANGE - This one surprised me as I have small Motorolla and LG bluetooth headsets that seem to work fine over most of my house. The BlueParrott started sounding like I was in an digital effects echo chamber after I got about about 20 feet away from my phone. Based on all other features this one did not seem consistent. Not the biggest issue since I will typically have my phone in my pocket but still surprising if you get up quick for something in the other room and don't bring the phone.MUTE RESPONSE TIME - As mentioned above I will include in the cons listing. The mute action is press and hold the volume up button until it beeps to indicate the state has changed. If I'm not leading a call I will have it on mute most of the time unless I need to comment. At those moments the delay for the press and hold seems like an eternity to you and folks on the call if you are not quick to the draw as you are delayed 1 - 2 seconds while the feature toggles to mute off. Can BlueParrott find away to make the mute button instantaneous? How about a separate mute button so it does not have to be a multi-function button. There is a periodic audible indicator (beep) that let's you know if you are on mute. This is handy when you are on mute for a bit or are about to go into a noisy environment and don't recall how you last left the mute state. The one on most mobile phones has a single touch toggle but you have to get the phone from your pocket, hit the sleep button, get to the phone screen and then hit mute. Again... delay and not very practical. The headset mute is the way to go I just want it to be immediate.Sorry for the long review but I hope it helps. I've been trying to find the right headset for over a year now and this is the best I've found yet. Only a few quirks with mute, power connectors and blinking blue lights but other than that I prefer this one to all others. I do put the LG stereo headset in a different class for music and use while exercising or flying.I would also suggest the BlueParrott start marketing it to business folks and not just the trucker audience. They may get more traction as the requirements are the same.

Legal while driving, superb performance and no more wire to catch on everything!
.....always with the hands free headset, me.....all these cell phone years....to the point where holding the phone in a fist to the head seems weird and even stupid....but always with a wired headset, MANY wired headsets....WIRED headsets that finally drove me up the wall for the snagging of wire on EVERYTHING!!! I got so tired of that....caught on everything and how annoying to have the headset crown tug out of place on my skull or if hard enough just pull off completely!.....one of the last straws was when the headset wire got pinched in the pivot of my truck set arm rest and there I was for 10 minutes extracting it.....I'm a trucker. The Blue Parrott headset is seen all over in my industry.....and after many surveys, I don't think I heard one unsatisfied user.......so I finally bought one.......Battery charge endurance is outstanding. Functions are smart yet simple. The range between headset and cellphone is adequate. And those that I know that have dropped theirs hard, the device has always worked so it's surely a tough design. Excellent, excellent. Also and very importantly, my regular phone call people are citing an excellent reception now, unlike prior to the Blue Parrott, when all kinds of background noise and my loud speaking to compensate made phone conversation nearly painful for all. That's gone now and people hear me properly despite my loud environment. I never really considered that when I was simply looking to get rid of that infinitely tangling hard wire! This is my first bluetooth headset and I chose it because of the mass popularity it has found in my work world after much inquiry. The only question now is long term durability with the device, but even that is experienced with great satisfaction by those long term users I spoke with, so I have great expectations. My work is demanding and with the new Blue Parrott headset, one important aspect of the job is fully optimized. On to the next problem!PS- I cannot understand how so many people continue to put a fist with a phone (cell or otherwise) to their skulls to communicate in this day and age. More so when driving a motor vehicle! The legal fines and risk of needing an occupied hand in a driving emergency seem to mean nothing to those so many that are ignorant to hands free phone calling. I simply cannot understand why this is and further I cannot understand why America's traffic law enforcement agencies do not stage extensive "spotting and stopping" campaigns on key suitable streets and roadways to "educate" the ignorant drivers one after another until the common sense hands-free cell phone driving law is taken seriously......I should think hundreds of fast tickets a day for most every police set up at $125 per ticket or more would pay handsomely to the sponsoring municipalities, until the stupid American hands-to-the-head cell phone drivers start waking up to their driving responsibilities. Teach your children, please!UPDATE July 28, 2013I'm fine keeping the 5 star rating. I've gotten lazy as is my habit with high tech stuff insofar as learning all the features and the Blue Parrot is included. I've not gotten into the voice command function (maybe because I've not gotten into it on the cell phone?!)and thus I shouldn't be too critical about the occasionally quirk that the headset doesn't connect with the cell phone when I think it should....I know that when you begin to charge the headset it disconnects from the cell phone. I owe myself more study and practice with the additional features before I can truly measure the limits of the device but for sure the background sound cancelling and audio and output clarity is superb as is the battery life. I see the price has dropped a bit on Amazon which is always nice for new buyers. I'm 5 stars on this headset, as I said. All my phone time is hands free, driving and otherwise. Before you get a $130 ticket for driving with your fist to your ear (like a mindless nudnik), spend the cash on this nugget and slow down to run faster (and with more equanimity).

Capable of doing more than it says on the tin - Pity about some 'hidden' aspects
Please note that this review is about the Vxi BlueParrott B250-XT + [the '+' being an upgrade on the previous version and Amazon slipped up by missing the vital '+' from the title]. Fortunately the Specification gave sufficient clues as to the actual version being sold.Sensibly packaged, easy to open, clear instructions [yes you do need to read them ;)] - so [after the 3.5 hour recommended charging period] it was really easy to set up and get everything functioning. There is a short ongoing learning curve to understand which Buttons, to press and how to achieve these presses when wearing the Headset, along with the Coloured Indicator Codes. Of course when in use the Indicator colour cannot be seen without a mirror and I am not handsome enough to warrant carrying one at all times :) .My previous purchase was a Plantronics Voyager Legend, unfortunately this failed to provide adequate output volume for my defective hearing. Phone conversations gradually becoming fainter as the call progresses.Learning that the B250-XT + had, probably more than [ref: Warning regarding possible Hearing Damage given in the On-Line User Manual], adequate output volume I decided that it was worth a closer look.My need for a higher than normal sound output overcame my dislike of the geek/dork/whatever appearance of this headset. It surely could have been designed to sit closer to the wearers head than it does? Another dislike is the use of Proprietary Charging Connection rather than the almost universal Mini-USB connector, but this is probably due to other Power related considerations? So what does it do that remains unpublished? Having difficulty hearing especially when busy in the workshop I need to pick up incoming calls on both Mobile and Landline Phones. Smartphones do not present many barriers to the Bluetooth Headset solution, and to overcome the lack of Bluetooth connectivity in my DECT Phone system I purchased a Bluetooth enabled Handset that was able to be Registered with the existing set up.This works faultlessly with the B250-XT + so why Vxi Corporation do not shout about it is a mystery. Clearly there are limitations [e.g. Voice Dialling is not possible via the DECT Handset] but by moving the key DECT Handset between Workshop and House means that calls are never missed even if I am in the same room and that is what this set up was designed to achieve. So what is 'hidden'? The B250-XT has been around for some time and as the + version uses common consumable items it is a pity that these are unavailable in the UK. The cost of similar replacement Earpiece Covers is frankly alarming at almost a third of the cost of the complete Headset for just a couple of replacement Covers. I feel a touch of DIY coming on!!! The chances of a Third Party Supplier taking up the challenge to manufacture-supply these items is probably veery slim dependant on the quantities of this product in use in the UK. The cost of importing from the USA seems to be on par with Amazon charges so no joy there.Hopefully the time for service support is some way off but there does not appear to be any advertised UK provision for this.Despite my dislikes and concerns I do rate this highly, the fifth Star only lost due to the apparent lack of Consumables and Service.Although the Headset looks lop sided there is nil sense of this when it is in use and no amount of [reasonable] head shaking moves it out of position. I can only imagine that the reviewer complaining about this had a faulty product, certainly my item has plenty of grip and more would be unwelcome. The output volume is more than adequate for me suggesting that the 'Warning' mentioned above is justified. Noise Cancellation is still to be tested, although in my case this will probably be limited to boiling a kettle for a brew whilst catching up on calls? Well IMO it would be stupid to converse on the phone whilst machining metal or wood. For vehicle drivers this offers totally hands free phone operations.

Plug it in because low battery, it shuts off...
It's tough, it works great, I've beaten on mine. The downside is that the low battery warning gives you little actual warning, I've had it gripe about low battery and shut off within 30 seconds. -_-The noise cancellation works great. The range can be very day to day, sound tends to corrupt after 10 feet, but it'll remain connected up to 30+feet away.

excellent headset, great price. Using still 35 months.
AS OF DEC. 2018, MIC NOT WORKING RIGHT. I USED THIS FOR UP TO 14 HOURS A DAY. I I 100% RECOMMEND THIS.Will try to clean out the mic head if it works I will post it. ***Today nov 15 2017. It still works. Replaced ear and mouth foam. But other than that its on for 8-16 hours a day for me except weekends. When it dies ill get another blueparrot. *****I have the 250xt and now the 250xt+. I have managed to connect it to psvita, samsung laptop, Sony Xperia ultra z, a nexus 5, and LG, G3, G4, galaxy S7 lg8 inch tablet, samsung laptop from around 2013.I managed to connect it to my phone and laptop at once so I can watch shows and receive phone calls. It was difficult to set that up but if you follow instructions it does work, well. Also it remembers that setting so u can go about your day connected to one item, then when u want reconnect to 2 other items that u previously set up for MULTI MODE.I try talk to text but the only program for it appears to be google talk and it's sketchy at best, usually easier to just send a text I feel. Will not connect to ps3 or ps4. Volume sometimes glitches and I turn it on off to get it loud again.Overall it is excellent and worth learning to use it.*** HAD IT OVER A YEAR AND USED IT DAILY 8-20 HOURS. STILL WORKS GREAT. HAD TO ORDER NEW NOISE CANCELLING EARPIECE BECAUSE IT GOT HARD EVENTUALLY.BEST HEADSET EVER.JUST ORDERED THIRD ONE.(one for trucker father inlaw and one for wife)

Very happy. I have it connected to my Macbook Air ...
Very happy.I have it connected to my Macbook Air and my landline. It switches between them without problems.Audio and Mic great quality.A bit finicky setting up but once done it works great. There is a known bug on Yozemite 10.10.2 where the bluetooth connection to headphone/speakers will throw out a horrible white noise if the screensaver comes. This is not the headphones fault. It's an Apple OS X 10.10.2 issue. But if you are in the middle of a Skype conversation using the headset and the screensaver comes on, the noise will blow your head off so turn the screensaver OFF when using them until Apple gets their act together with this bug.
